MONTPELIER – Lt. Governor Phil Scott filed his petition this morning to be placed on the ballot for re-election as Vermont’s second-in-command. Scott seeks his second term as Lieutenant Governor.
All candidates for statewide office are required to submit 500 signatures to be placed on the ballot. Lt. Gov. Scott’s petition contained the names of more than 800 Vermonters supporting his candidacy.
“I’ve really enjoyed serving Vermonters in the Lieutenant Governor’s office, and I would be honored to have the opportunity to continue for another two years,” Scott said. “I thank each and every one of the 811 Vermonters who signed up to support my candidacy, and I look forward to offering further updates from the campaign trail this fall.”
