Rapper defends parents’ alleged involvement in college bribery scam while smoking pot

By Whitney Tipton

Malcolm Abbott took to the street to defend his parents against allegations that they bribed college test proctors to inflate his sister’s college entrance scores, by strolling out the front door of his family’s multi-million dollar Fifth Avenue co-op and lighting up a blunt.

Abbott asserted in an interview with the New York Post that, while he didn’t attend college himself, “I believe everyone has a right to go to college, man.”

“They’re blowing this whole thing out of proportion,” Abbott said between blunt puffs, before taking an opportunity to promote his CD “Cheese and Crackers.” Abbott raps under the name “Billa.”

His father Gregory Abbott, the founder of International Dispensing Corporation, and mother Marcia Abbott were indicted along with nearly 50 other parents for allegedly paying $125,000 to increase their daughter’s ACT and SAT scores. They were reportedly able to boost their daughter’s ACT score to 35 out of 36 and her SAT score to a perfect 800.

Malcolm Abbott’s brother also spoke with the Post about his parents’ legal troubles, lamenting that they “got roped into [this by] some guy who f–king cheated them.”

His parents are free on $1 million bail. They face federal charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

  1. 35 out of 36 and an 800 perfect score? Dumb question, what were the folks in admissions doing? If I came across this application, , I’d sure’d sure want to interview this individual in person because if it appears to be too good to be true, it most probably ‘is’nt. Further, wonder if the parents upped the anti from a measly $125,000 to a cool $200,000, the 35 could have been moved to a cool perfect 36? There’s nothing better than having a perfect outcome in whatever endeavor we under take.

  2. No morals, just do what you have to do to get what you want…………….great lesson to teach your kids……..and they take kids away from poor people. They should start looking at these types of parents………… having this come out I am really glad my daughter did not rush to finish college. She traveled and worked around the world which I have always thought is a way better life lesson then Mommy and Daddy paying for everything for their coddled and entitled little darlings!
