Update on “Kill Bill” vote

by Robert Maynard

Yesterday we posted a roll call vote on the “Kill Bill” vote.  It now appears that the roll call listed in that article does not accurately reflect who is really against the Oregon style bill and who was voting strategically to weaken that bill.  The following comment from Representative Tom Koch highlighted this problem: “This is the wrong roll call to be citing if you are trying to separate the advocates of PAS from the opponents. Anyone who watched the proceedings all day knows that I strongly opposed the Oregon version and voted to kill the bill outright (three times!) My vote on this particular roll call was purely strategic.”  Fortunately, the following roll call vote was provided by Mary Beerworth, the Executive Director of the Vermont Right to Life.  The relevant section runs from page 1053 to 1059.
